Bergsjön stone box
The stone box of Bergsjön stands next to the residential buildings in the street Siriusgatan in Bergsjön, a northern suburb of Gothenburg in Västra Götaland County , Sweden .
The megalithic stone box ( Swedish Hällkiste ) was built during the Neolithic (1800–1500 BC) as a collective grave for the rural population. Several non-contiguous standing and lying supporting stones as well as a large tilted ceiling slab have been preserved. The stone box overlooks the former Gärdsås Moor , the surroundings of which were probably important to the Stone Age farmers .
