The stone circle of Uragh North in County Kerry in Ireland stands on the Beara Peninsula between the lakes Cloonee Lough (Upper) and Loch Inchiquin in the townland of Uragh ( Irish An Iúrach ). The river Ameen, which connects the two lakes, flows past about 200 m to the north. The county can only be reached by a dead end road that starts at Cooragillagh.

There are 187 stone circles in the Republic of Ireland . The majority is in County Cork , with 103 counties . 20 counties are in County Kerry and 11 in County Mayo . This stone circle stands on a small terrace on the hillside above Loch Inchiquin . An approximately three meter high monolith stands next to the tiny "Five Stone Circle", 2.4 m in diameter, a type of stone circle that is typical of the southwest of the island. Uragh is a characteristically Irish stone circle of the Cork-Kerry series made of plate-like stones. Four stones are standing, while the southeastern one is in a lopsided position. The cuboid monolith arranged radially to form a circle dominates the scene. It is only 60 cm away from the stone circle. Nearby is the somewhat larger Uragh Southwest stone circle .
