Stone cross in Epfach

The stone cross in Rosenau, about one and a half kilometers northwest of Epfach , a district of the municipality of Denklingen in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , was erected in 1627 or 1632. The possible Pestkreuz or Marterl in the gusset of the former Roman road Via Claudia Augusta and a farm road leading down to the Lech is a protected monument .

The cross made of tuff stone in the form of a stylized iron cross with narrow incisions was possibly set up for a raftsman who drowned in the Lech .
