from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The stone cross Fermersleben was a stone cross in today Magdeburg belonging Fermersleben in Saxony-Anhalt .

The historical cross, possibly dating back to the Middle Ages , was located at the Fermersleber Friedhof, today's park north of the Fermersleben war memorial . It stood in the ditch on the west side of what is now Alt Fermersleben. Opposite was the former parish square. The location was thus north of the local area of Fermersleben on the main road in the direction of Magdeburg.

The cross may have been erected as an atonement cross . It was designed as a Latin cross with parallel edges and made of sandstone . The size is unknown.

When the road was widened in 1920/21, the cross was possibly removed in the course of the construction of the tram route . Presumably it was destroyed. A photograph of the cross should be preserved.
