The Good Stone Lake (also good stone paints ) is a well in the district Kirchlengern the community Kirchlengern , Herford .

Gut Steinlake is one of the youngest manors in the Herford district and is located on the Else . Its creation is closely connected to the manor Gut Oberbehme and the no longer existing Gut Niederbehme . These two were once owned by the von Quernheim family and were located a little south of Steinlake. From 1693 the owner changed several times. In 1736 the owner Freiherr von der Horst had the Niederbehme estate demolished and the Steinlake estate built about two kilometers north of the demolition material. In 1789 Gut Steinlake was acquired by the von Borries family. When Philipp von Borries became the district administrator of the Bünde district , Gut Steinlake became the district administrator's seat. The manor house is a Baroque building from 1736. The farm buildings were only built in the 19th and 20th centuries. Around 1850, a landscape park was created at the estate , which is largely preserved in its original state.

Steinlake was an independent manor district in the Ennigloh district until it was incorporated into the Kirchlengern community on June 30, 1929.

The name is pronounced with a long vowel a , since in the traditional spelling the following c is a stretch c .
