The district of Bünde was a district in the administrative district of Minden in the Prussian province of Westphalia that existed from 1816 to 1831 . The county seat was Bünde . The district became part of the Herford and Lübbecke districts in 1832 .
location
The district of Bünde was in the northeast of the Prussian province of Westphalia and belonged to the administrative district of Minden . Starting clockwise in the north, the Westphalian districts Rahden , Minden , Herford and Halle (Westphalia) bordered the district and the Kingdom of Hanover to the west .
The district was between the Teutoburg Forest and the Wiehen Mountains in the Ravensberger Land . The former district in the Ravensberger Hügelland is drained by the Werre and Else rivers.
history
prehistory
The area of the later district of Bünde belonged to the Prussian administrative area of Minden-Ravensberg until 1806 , including the northeastern part of the Principality of Minden (parts of the offices of Hausberge and Reineberg), with the southwestern part of the county of Ravensberg (parts of the offices of Limberg and Sparrenberg). In 1806 the area was occupied by Napoleonic France and in 1807 the newly formed vassal state Kingdom of Westphalia was added. Here it belonged to the Minden district in the Weser department , received an administration based on the French model and was divided into several cantons . In 1811 the greater part of the area came directly to France (Minden district in the Ober-Ems department ). After the reconquest by Prussia in 1813, it was provisionally part of the civil government between the Weser and Rhine until the province of Westphalia was founded .
Administrative history
The administrative district of Minden , founded in 1816 , one of three administrative districts in the province of Westphalia, was divided into twelve districts with effect from November 1, 1816 by ordinance of the royal government in Minden of October 18, 1816, including the Bünde district with its seat in Bünde. After the administrative division, which was initially provisional in 1816, was consolidated in 1818, the district was divided into the five administrative districts of Bünde, Enger, Mennighüffen, Quernheim and Spenge. In addition to parts of the Herford and Lübbecke parishes and most of the Spenge parish, twelve other parishes were completely located in the district. Below the administrative districts, in addition to the two cities of Bünde and Enger, there were 58 other localities in the district in 1821, most of which were also referred to as farmers .
The district was dissolved by a resolution of the provincial government on January 1, 1832 and largely added to the Herford district. The parishes of Hüllhorst and Schnathorst and the village of Oberbauerschaft were incorporated into the new Lübbecke district.
The district area roughly equivalent to the area of today's cities and towns frets , Enger , Hiddenhausen , Kirchlengern , wages , Roedinghausen and Spenge in Herford and Hüllhorst in Minden-Lübbecke .
The following is an overview of the administrative structure that existed from 1818 to 1831:
1 also referred to as cantons, mairies or mayor's offices
2 also referred to as peasant communities
3 The Herford parish was mostly in the Herford district.
4 The administrative districts of Mennighüffen and Quernheim belonged together in judicial terms and were partially regarded as a common administrative district of Quernheim-Mennighüffen.
5 The remaining part of the parish of Lübbecke was in the Rahden district.
6 The remainder of the parish of Spenge, the Groß-Aschen farmers , was in the Kingdom of Hanover and was therefore not under Prussian administration.
