Dreyen is a district of the East Westphalian town of Enger with around 1,400 inhabitants .
history
The current district on March 10, 1151. was first documented in a lifting role of Herford the place "Treine" is called. Before 1969 he formed his own congregation .
On January 1, 1969, Dreyen was incorporated into Enger.
Attractions
Bell tower (historical)
A striking bell tower was built in 1927 and stands near the cemetery.
Country house
A striking historical building near Dreyer Eck is an old country house from 1881. An inscription above the archway indicates its builder - an Oberhaus family. Typical for this type of building is the fencing of the building with its entrance gate, which is delimited by two columns. Today there is a psychological center there.
Boulder conglomerate
A group of seven boulders marks a property on Zur Schmiede street . The inscription reads "Sonntag 185".
After the property got new owners in 2019 and the former owners moved away from Dreyen, the stone with the inscription was removed.
Windmill (historical)
Dreyen had a windmill on Meller Straße (house number 229) until 2015, which was added to the list of monuments of the city of Enger in 1988 under number 40. The mill was demolished in September 2015.
The mill was a grain mill and was built in 1847. For a long time it was owned by the Schürmann family. The mill was an octagonal earth dutchman mill .

The Dreyen cemetery is particularly noticeable for its entrance gate. It is headed with the saying from the Gospel of John "I live and you should also live". The cemetery is laid out like a park. In addition to the cemetery chapel, other distinctive components are the war memorial.
Dreyen fire brigade of the Enger fire brigade
The Dreyen volunteer fire brigade was founded on September 26, 1906 by 20 men in the “Hermann Paust” restaurant. Franz Niederhaus became the first captain. The first fire station at Dreyer Eck was given up in 1960, and a new fire station was built in the street “Zur Schmiede”. This was expanded again around 1998. The fire fighting train consists of four vehicles, a LF 16 TS, a TLF, a DLK 23 and an MTF. The fire brigade has almost 160 members; 20 of them are active in the operations department and 4 in the youth fire brigade. The turntable ladder stationed in Dreyen was acquired on the basis of a cooperation agreement between the two cities of Enger and Spenge .

In Dreyen there is a day care center run by the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO). The children are divided into three groups called the sun, moon and stars.
Sports
The gymnastics and sports association Rot-Weiß Dreyen 1913 eV is based in Dreyen. It was founded in 1913. A total of ten soccer teams were registered with the club in the 2009/2010 season. This includes three men, one women, one A-Juniors, one B-Juniors, one B-Juniors, one E-Juniors, one F-Juniors and one senior team. The association has over 300 members.
There is a sports facility in the area of the district.
The sports festival is celebrated every year at Pentecost.

Children's playground
The children's playground is located on Gartenstraße and is equipped with a table tennis table, a sandpit and a seesaw, among other things. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the sports field.
Pedigree Poultry Breeding Association Dreyen (RGZV Dreyen)
The breed poultry association Dreyen was founded on January 12th, 1929 in the "Lührmann restaurant". The first poultry show took place on November 17, 1929. Club life was maintained during the Second World War. In 1963 the association created a duck pond with a breeding station in Sundern. Today the association has 70 members. Every autumn there is a poultry exhibition on the Brutlach farm.
Old tractor and agricultural machinery friends Dreyen eV
Every second (odd) year at the beginning of September the old tractor and agricultural machinery friends Dreyen organize a threshing festival in Dreyen. The festival lasts for two days and is also very popular across the region. It has been taking place on Dreschstrasse around the weighbridge in Dreyen for several years.
Apart from 2010, the old tractor friends traditionally set up the maypole on May 1st in Dreyen. The Dreyen clubs, the fire brigade and the mayor also meet at this event every year on Dreschstraße. On the maypole you can find the coats of arms of all Dreyen clubs and the fire brigade, as well as a historical Enger coat of arms . In winter, a Christmas tree with a chain of lights is set up at this point, while the maypole is in winter quarters.
Schützenverein Dreyen eV
On April 27, 1958, the founding meeting of the Schützenverein Dreyen eV took place in the Heidekrug under the direction of the innkeeper Karl Tiemann. In August 2008 the shooting club celebrated its 50th anniversary. The club has a club house on Gartenstraße - between the sports field and the playground in Dreyen. In shooting sports, in addition to the men's department, there is a youth and women's department. The members of the association regularly take part in various championships. In autumn every year the shooting club organizes a cup shooting for the local clubs in Dreyen.

Ev. Westerenger-Dreyen trombone choir
The association was founded in 1911 after trombone choirs had already existed in the independent parishes of Enger, Spenge, Wallenbrück and Jöllenbeck . The practice lessons took place in the Westerenger I school .
Ev. House of the community
The Dreyen parish house was built in 1974. It is used by the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Enger, among other things, for special services. The Wichtelgruppe, the Frauenkreis and the Frauenhilfe are also located there.
traffic
The place is connected to the local public transport by bus line 464. It connects Dreyen on the one hand with the neighboring town of Spenge, on the other hand with the center of Enger. Two cycle routes run through the town: the green and the orange route. District road 19 and state road 712 also run through the village.
