Werfen is a district in the south of the East Westphalian city of Bünde .
Until the end of 1968 Werfen was an independent municipality in the Ennigloh district . On January 1, 1969, the place was incorporated into Bünde. Werfen has 1050 inhabitants (as of September 30, 2009), making it the second smallest district in the Graubünden.
Werfen belongs to the Protestant parish of Hunnebrock - Hüffen - Werfen . The Johanniskirche is, however, in Hüffen. The landscape protection area Werfener Bruch on the Else is named after Werfen , where lapwing still breed on grassland.
Gustav Galle was born in Werfen .
