Location of Ahle in Bünde

Ahle is a rural district in the west of the city of Bünde ( Herford district ) in North Rhine-Westphalia ; its western border opposite the city of Melle ( district of Osnabrück ) belonging to the city districts Bruchmühlen and Groß Aschen also forms the state border with Lower Saxony .

history

Ahle has been part of the city of Bünde since January 1, 1969; previously it formed an independent community.

religion

The clear majority of the residents of Ahles belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community of Holsen -Ahle; the services take place in the Lukaskirche, located on the border between Ahle and Holsen. The Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Holsen-Ahle was parish off from the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Bünde on January 1, 1926 and has since been an independent parish in the Herford parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . From 1912 to 1951, the services were held in an emergency church made of timber frame construction , which had been designed by the architect Karl Siebold (1854–1937) who worked in Bethel near Bielefeld . The church building was sold to Glandorf in the district of Osnabrück (Lower Saxony) in 1952 , where it was re-erected and has been called Kripplein Christi since then .

The residents of Ahles, who are of the Roman Catholic denomination, have their worship center in the Church of St. Michael in Bünde-Holsen; As parish members, they belong to the Bünder Land pastoral group in the Herford-Minden dean's office in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .
