Gustav Galle

Gustav Galle (* 16th September 1899 in throwing , † January 1992 in Ledde ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Gustav Galle had a doctorate in law and entered the civil service in 1933 with the great state examination. In September 1934 he was dismissed from the judicial service on his own request because he was not prepared to take the official oath of Hitler after Hindenburg's death . From 1940 to 1945 he did military service . In July 1945 he returned to the administrative service and was appointed to the government council. From 1946 to 1952, after his previous election, Galle was senior district director in the Lübbecke district and from July 1, 1952 to September 30, 1964, the second district president in the Detmold district after Heinrich Drake . Before that, the regional council had been relocated from Minden to Detmold in connection with the admission from Lippe to North Rhine-Westphalia. During his tenure, the city of Espelkamp was founded on the old Muna site in order to offer many refugees a new home. Attentively through his closeness to nature, he succeeded in laying the foundations for the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge Nature Park , which was then founded in 1965. Economically, he promoted the region through the East Westphalia Plan, among other things .

Honors

Gustav Galle was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in September 1964.
