politics

Andreas Wiebe, member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1994 , was the district president in the Detmold administrative district from 2001 to 2005. He was the successor to the first female district president of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party, Christa Vennegerts , who resigned prematurely for health reasons. As the smaller coalition party in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Greens were entitled to a regional council after the elections for reasons of proportional representation . After the state elections in 2005 , he lost his office to Marianne Thomann-Stahl from the FDP .

As one of his main tasks as district president, he saw the reduction of bureaucracy. The Detmold administrative region is therefore one of the model regions for reducing bureaucracy in Germany.

In 2011, he was appointed as a green party member by the green environment minister of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Johannes Remmel, to head the state forest and wood company in North Rhine-Westphalia.

At the beginning of 2013, he hit the headlines as a hunter and was the subject of a question time in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, as he was accused of having shot a roebuck within the closed season . Environment Minister Remmel said during Question Time that Wiebe had mistakenly mistaken the buck for a female animal, reported the incident immediately and paid the fine.
