Ernst Graumann

Ernst Graumann (born October 7, 1913 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † August 17, 1991 ) was a German politician , district president in the Detmold district and administrative officer in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Ernst Graumann studied law and passed the major state examination in December 1939 and then became a government assessor in the Frankfurt / Oder government . From 1942 he was a participant in the Second World War . In 1948 he was hired by the Düsseldorf district government after returning from captivity. On October 10, 1961, he was appointed government vice-president in the Münster administrative region . On October 19, 1964, he became President of the District of Detmold . He led the government there until October 31, 1978. As a founding member and founding board member and later chairman of the Westfälisch-Lippische Universitätsgesellschaft, he contributed significantly to the development of Bielefeld University . He was an "honorary citizen" of Bielefeld University.

Honors

Ernst Graumann was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in September 1971 . When he retired in October 1978, he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit.
