The district of Grevenbroich-Neuss was from 1929 to 1946 (until 1938 as the district of Grevenbroich-Neuss ) a district in the administrative district of Düsseldorf in the Rhine province .

history

The county Grevenbroich-Neuss was from August 1, 1929 at district Grevenbroich , the district Neuss and parts of the county Gladbach educated district . When the Prussian state parliament passed the reorganization law in 1929, the map of the Lower Rhine changed considerably. One of the biggest changes was the founding of the new Grevenbroich-Neuss district . In detail, it initially consisted of the following communities:

As one of the first measures, the merger of the three Kreissparkasse Grevenbroich, Neuss and Gladbach to form the new Kreissparkasse Grevenbroich-Neuss was decided on November 4, 1929 . In 1933 the National Socialists took power in the circle. In the spring of 1945, American troops occupied the district and the new first man in the district, US Captain Brooks, appointed Peter Gilles provisional district administrator at the end of February 1945. He was supported by a trust committee, which consisted of 6 people and which met for its first meeting on August 2, 1945. On February 26, 1946, the appointed district council met for the first time. It consisted of 15 members.

In 1946 the district of Grevenbroich-Neuss was renamed the district of Grevenbroich .
