Laach (Grevenbroich)

Laach is a district of the city of Grevenbroich in the Rhine district of Neuss in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Laach borders the Neu-Elfgen district in the north . In the east is the Neuss-Grevenbroich-Bedburg-Bergheim-Horrem railway line and the A 540 motorway in the south .

history

From the Middle Ages until 1794, Laach was part of the Elsen Teutonic Order. In 1794 the place was occupied by French revolutionary troops. Laach now came to the Mairie Elsen in the canton of Elsen in the Arrondissement of Cologne in the Département de la Roer . In 1815 Laach came to the Kingdom of Prussia . It emerged as a community Laach that the county Grevenbroich in Cologne Region came. From 1929 Laach belonged to the new district of Grevenbroich-Neuss . In 1931 the small town was incorporated into the city of Grevenbroich.
