Gilverath is a district of Grevenbroich in the Rhine district of Neuss , North Rhine-Westphalia . The place has 36 inhabitants.

location

The village borders in the northeast on Neubrück , in the east on the Erft . Kapellen / Erft is to the west .

history

Since the Middle Ages , the place belonged to the Electoral Cologne Office Hülchrath in Dingstuhl Büttgen-Glehn. In 1794 French troops occupied Gilverath. In 1815 the village came to the Kingdom of Prussia and was / 1816 the municipality Kapellen Erft in county Grevenbroich in the administrative district of Dusseldorf allocated. In 1930 the village came to the Hemmerden office . Gilverath has been part of Grevenbroich since January 1, 1975.

Catholic Church

Since the Middle Ages Gilverath has belonged to the Land Dean of Neuss and had its own church with St. Johannes. In 1804 the parish church opposite the Gilverather Hof was demolished and attached to the Catholic parish of the parish in Kapellen / Erft.
