Gubisrath

Gubisrath is a small village in the extreme northeast of the city of Grevenbroich in the Rhine district of Neuss .

location

The village of Gubisrath, consisting of 26 houses, is surrounded by fields all around. To the northeast of Gubisrath is the federal highway 477 , to the southeast is the village of Dormagen - Gohr . Haus Horr is located southwest of Gubisrath and does not belong to Gubisrath.

history

The village of Gubisrath was first mentioned in a document towards the end of the 13th century. Since the Middle Ages, the place belonged to the office of Hülchrath in the Electorate of Cologne . In 1794 the place was occupied by French revolutionary troops and came to the Mairie Hülchrath, who in turn came to the canton of Elsen in the arrondissement of Cologne . Since 1815 Gubisrath was part of the municipality of Hülchrath , which was later renamed the municipality of Neukirchen and was located in the Grevenbroich district. Gubisrath has been part of the city of Grevenbroich since January 1st, 1975.

  • In the middle of the village is the striking ground monument "Haag", a former moth.
  • The manor house of Haus Horr is said to have been built in 1738 by the builder Leveilly from the Electorate of Cologne as a "maison de plaisance".
