Eslohe district
The Eslohe district was a Prussian district in the administrative district of Arnsberg in the province of Westphalia from 1819 to 1831 . His legal successor was the Meschede district .
history
In 1817 the districts of Altena , Arnsberg , Bilstein , Bochum , Brilon , Dortmund , Hagen , Hamm , Iserlohn , Lippstadt , Medebach , Siegen , Soest and Wittgenstein were founded in the administrative district of Arnsberg . The topographical conditions in the Hochsauerland were not taken into account, so that the district structure of the administrative district was redesigned as early as 1819.
It came about on January 1, 1819
- for the exchange of territory between the Arnsberg district and neighboring districts
- to dissolve the district of Bilstein and its division into the districts of Olpe and Eslohe
- to dissolve the district of Medebach and its division into the districts of Brilon and Eslohe and
- to rebuild the Eslohe district from parts of the Altena , Arnsberg , Bilstein and Medebach districts
- to rebuild the Olpe district from the largest part of the Bilstein district
The Eslohe district thus consisted of the area of the old offices of Eslohe, Fredeburg and Meschede and the parish of Schönholthausen . Before the French era , these areas had belonged to the Duchy of Westphalia . The seat of the new Eslohe district initially came to Eslohe . Eslohe lost its administrative headquarters to the city of Meschede on December 12, 1819 .
On January 1, 1832, the Eslohe district was dissolved. The main part of the district became part of the new Meschede district. The localities Hohenwibbecke , Lenscheid, Saal and Wildewiese were reintegrated from the Eslohe district into the Arnsberg district. They were assigned to the mayor's office in Allendorf .
District Administrator
District administrator was Christian Adolf Wilhelm Pilgrim (1819–1835), previously district administrator in the Medebach district .
