Schwenningdorf is a district of the municipality of Rödinghausen in the northeast of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1968 Schwenningdorf formed an independent municipality in the office of Rödinghausen. The place was first mentioned in 1088.

history
When a women's monastery was founded in Herford around 820 under Ludwig the Pious , the then still tiny towns of Bieren and Rödinghausen were mentioned in the lift roll . Schwenningdorf was not mentioned in the lifting role, but was probably founded at that time and was initially called Swanekindorp after its founder "Swanekin" . Schwenningdorf was first mentioned in 1088.

Education, transport and economy
The Rödinghausen comprehensive school with a triple gymnasium is located in Schwenningdorf . In Schwenningdorf-Neue Mühle is one of the Rödinghauser train stations "Haltpunkt Mesch Neue Mühle". It is located at an old mill on the Ravensberger Bahn (KBS 386), on which the RB 71 Bielefeld - Herford - Bünde - Rahden runs every hour, every two hours on Sundays . On the border between Bieren and Schwenningdorf there is also the Bieren-Rödinghausen stop on the same train route and the same train connection. The municipality's largest industrial company, Häcker Küchen, is located in Schwenningdorf .
