The Schierenbeke is a 2.4 km long left tributary of the Große Aue or the New Mühlenbach, as the Große Aue is called in the upper reaches. The creek lies entirely in the East Westphalian municipality of Rödinghausen in the Herford district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Schierenbeke rises in Schwenningdorf at a source height of around 135 m above sea level. NN . The river flows in a west-east direction south and parallel to the Wiehengebirge. In the upper reaches of the natural stream flows through the nature reserve Schierenbeke . The valley at brook kilometer 1.9 is popularly known as the Wolf Chamber . The left tributary of the Schierenbeke is the Wehmerhorster Bach , which flows into the river at 0.8 km. The Schierenbeke flows into the New Mühlenbach or the Große Aue at Aue river kilometer 81.5. The nature reserve Schierenbeeke includes the upper courses of the Schierenbeke and a tributary water and its valleys and the beech forest area at the Wolf Chamber and has a total size of 13.5 hectares. The streams are classified as near-natural. The water quality class I to II enables the settlement of many rare animal species. The nature reserves Wehmerhorster Wiesental and Auebachtal are in the immediate vicinity .
