The genus Aplexa is the eponymous genus of the subfamily Aplexinae (in the family of bladder snails (Physidae)), which is considered to be part of the subordination of water lung snails (Basommatophora).
features
The left-hand wound cases are slim and the thread is significantly higher than the opening. The opening is not inflated. The mantle had no mantle extensions like the genus Physa . The animal's foot and coat are black.
Taxonomy
The taxon is widely recognized. The number of species within the genus is still uncertain. Especially African species that have been described under this generic name have meanwhile been assigned to other genera. In Central Europe only the moss bladder snail ( Aplexa hypnorum ) occurs.
