Bibai ( Japanese 美 唄 市 , - shi ) is a city in the Sorachi sub-prefecture on the island of Hokkaidō ( Japan ).

Bibai is southwest of Asahikawa and northeast of Sapporo .

history

The city has existed since April 1, 1950.

traffic

The Bibai Station is located on the Hakodate Main Line of JR Hokkaido ; from 1914 to 1972 the Bibai railway line belonging to the Mitsubishi concern branched off from this . The city is also accessible via the Dōō Highway and National Road 12 .
