Mombetsu ( Japanese 紋 別 市 , - shi ) is a city in the Okhotsk sub-prefecture on the island of Hokkaidō ( Japan ).
geography
Mombetsu is northwest of Kitami and Abashiri , and northeast of Asahikawa .
history
The city has existed since July 1, 1954.
traffic
Mombetsu is accessible via National Roads 238, 239 and 273. Monbetsu Airport is located approximately 8 km southeast of the city center . The Nayoro Main Line (railway) was shut down in 1989. In Engaru the wrong Maruseppu Forest Park Railway on a 1.5-kilometer Museum - narrow-gauge railway line .
