Location of Hüllhorst in Hüllhorst
|
Hüllhorst is a district of the Hüllhorst municipality of the same name in the Minden-Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia and used to be an independent municipality. The place has around 2700 inhabitants. The village is the administrative seat of the municipality, but neither in terms of area nor population is its largest district. Hüllhorst is located in the center of the community and is the only district that borders only on other districts of the community. Hüllhorst is a typical street village , which means that the houses are essentially on both sides of the main street that crosses the village from north to south. In addition, some individual farms belong to the village, such as the Hobrink, and smaller hamlets and new housing estates. To the north, the development now merges seamlessly into the village of Ahlsen.
Hüllhorst is the seat of the same congregation to further the localities Büttendorf , Ahlsen-Reineberg and Tengern belong. Until December 31, 1972, Hüllhorst was a municipality with fewer than 2000 inhabitants in the Hüllhorst district ( Lübbecke district ). The seat of the office was therefore in Hüllhorst.
geography
The area of the village belongs completely to the Ravensberger Mulde . It is hilly, has a loess layer and is mainly used for arable farming. Streams have created numerous valleys, the most famous of which is the nightingale valley . In these valleys are mainly the grassland and the numerous small forests of the village, which are popularly known as "bush" and consist mainly of coppice forests. Although these forests only take up a comparatively small proportion of the area (around 5% of the area), they give the area a park-like appearance.
Infrastructure
In the last 20 years the townscape has changed a lot. So there was to the 1980s, only so-called mom-and-pop shops within the village, where you could sometimes earn some every day and night hours, and even the ancient name grocers wore. In the meantime, however, several modern supermarkets have been built. Other facilities of a sub-center that the old community once had are no longer available, such as B. the former police station and the post office. Hüllhorst has, among other things, a gas station, a driving school, a veterinary practice and a stationery shop. Several bus stops ensure the immediate connection of the village to the medium- sized centers of Löhne , Bad Oeynhausen and Lübbecke . The comprehensive school of the municipality of Hüllhorst is located in Hüllhorst.
