Steinsberg is a parish village in the market town of Regenstauf in the Regensburg district in Bavaria . Until 1978, Steinsberg was the seat of the municipality of the same name .

history

The first mention of Steinberg as Stainsperc is found in the will of the Count Palatine Friedrich von Wittelsbach in 1170. The Lords of Steinberg owned the Hofmark between 1240 and 1436. In the Thirty Years' War was Steinberg castle almost completely destroyed and sold afterwards. In 1788 Steinsberg is named as Hofmark, the district judge Count Öchsle in Lengenfelden confirmed Steinsberg as Hofmark with 33 subjects. In 1818 the court justice was dissolved here. The community of Steinsberg came into being at the same time as the Bavarian community edict of 1818. It comprised the places Steinsberg, Oberschlag and Unterschlag. In 1945 Steinsberg and Loch were incorporated into Eitlbrunn . In 1948, the dissolved municipality of Steinsberg becomes independent again. The municipality of Buchenlohe with the suburbs of Forstberg, Frauenberg, Geiersberg and Reiterberg joined the municipality of Steinsberg on January 1, 1971. On May 1, 1978 Steinsberg was incorporated into Regenstauf .

Attractions

In the list of architectural monuments for Steinsberg are the 1929/30 according to plans by Karl Schmid sen. built Catholic parish church of St. Josef and Steinsberg Castle .
