Design and history

The half-timbered house , built as a merchant's house , was built in 1715. The loading hatch and winch for lifting goods to the storage facility on the top floor is striking . There are two inscriptions on the beams in the street-side facade. The inscription in the upper bar is damaged and reads: Dear God, I thank you that you have given me a house, a house in which I can live. ... I thank God and I firmly hope that he will not leave his. O Lord, o Lord, let it succeed, also give happiness and salvation to all things.

The inscription in the lower bar reads The Lord thinks of us, he blesses the house of Aaron; He blesses those who fear the Lord, both small and large. The Lord blesses you more and more, you and your children! You are the blessed of the Lord who made heaven and earth.

There is a toy shop on the ground floor (as of 2015). The house has been owned by the Kühn family, who also own the neighboring house at Steinstraße 5, since the mid-19th century.
