Genet Gebregiorgis
Genet Gebregiorgis ( Amharic ገነት ገብረጊዮርጊስ ; * July 28, 1975 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance and cross-country runner .
In 1995 she won the bronze medal in the 1500 meter run at the Africa Games in Harare .
At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she was eliminated in 16th place in the 5000 meter run with 16:04:40 min.
In 1996 in Copenhagen and in 1998 in Manaus she was world champion at the IAAF World Road Relay Championships .
She also won two gold medals ( 2001 , 2002 ) and three silver medals ( 1998 , 1999 and 2000 ) in the team classification at the World Cross Country Championships.
In 2008 she won the Vancouver Sun Run after 33:35 minutes.
