Stela of Narām-Sîn
The stele of Narām-Sîn is a 57 cm high diorite stele . It was found in Pir Hüssein near Diyarbakır in Turkey . So far, only fragments of her are known that are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum in Istanbul . An inscription by King Narām-Sîn is attached to the Akkadian piece , in which one of his victories is glorified.
In contrast to the victory stele, this is stylistically even more similar to the art from Sargon's reign . For example, the lengths of fabric from Narām-Sîn's robe are not carved out, but simply carved into the stone. Beard and head hair, however, are already clearly modeled.
