Stellstein row in Ober-Hainbrunn.jpg

The row of positioning stones in Ober-Hainbrunn , a district belonging to Oberzent in the southern Odenwald district, is considered an exceptionally well-preserved cultural asset and has been included in the monument topography of the Odenwald district as a cultural monument.

The row of standing stones consists of two rows of erect sandstone slabs, which line a steep path south of the old schoolhouse (Neckarstraße 1), which leads from Neckarstraße to the west between two properties and down into the Finkenbach valley. The nameless path presumably once served to drive cattle , so that the reason for the erection of the control stones is to protect the adjacent gardens from the pigs driven on the path. Today it is paved and provided with a series of short flights of stairs.
