Stellwag sign

The Stellwag sign is a typical symptom of endocrine orbitopathy . It describes the pathologically reduced blinking frequency that occurs. In clinical practice this is measured in blinking / minute. The sign was named after the Austrian ophthalmologist Karl Stellwag von Carion (1823–1904).

Other clinical signs of endocrine orbithopathy are the Graefe sign , the Dalrymple sign , the Kocher sign, and the Möbius sign .
