Stephan Güsgen

Stephan Güsgen (born March 26, 1962 in Dormagen ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 2.03 m tall and 93 kg heavy athlete started for TSV Bayer Dormagen .

In 1986 and 1988 he was German champion in the 50 m freestyle. In 1987 he was runner-up and in 1989 he came third.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he also started the 50 m freestyle. As eleventh of the preliminary runs, he qualified for the B final, in which he came in 6th in 23.55 seconds. With his 23.22 seconds in the run-up he would have won the B final.

Stephan Güsgen is now an orthopedic doctor . His practice is in Düsseldorf .
