Stephan Mösinger
Stephan Mösinger (* 1697 in Haßfurt ; † 1751 in Langheim Abbey ) was abbot of Langheim Abbey from 1734 to 1751 .
After studying philosophy and theology, the miller's son entered the Langheim monastery, where he became abbot at the age of 37. In 1741/42 he secured the independence of the abbey in a contract with the Bamburg prince-bishop Friedrich Karl von Schönborn . Mösinger also appeared as the client. He had his architect Gottfried Heinrich Krohne build a splendid, baroque complex for the monastery . Balthasar Neumann also planned the new building of the pilgrimage church Vierzehnheiligen near Bad Staffelstein, which was completed in 1772.
