Stephen Malcolm

Stephen "Shorty" Malcolm (born February 5, 1970 - January 28, 2001 ) was a Jamaican football player .

He died on January 28, 2001 after the Jamaican national team played a friendly match against Bulgaria in Kingston in a fatal car accident. The driver of the car was his teammate Theodore Whitmore , but he did not get seriously injured. Malcolm played as a defensive midfielder, but also as a defender. He played for the club Seba United and made his debut for the Jamaican national team in 1995. By the time he died, he made 68 appearances for Jamaica, scoring three goals. He was also a player in the 1998 World Cup in France, Jamaica's only World Cup participation so far.
