action
Jochen Feucht moves with his family to a foreign city, because his father is supposed to take up a position as plant manager of the local chemical plant. This work has been a major headache for locals for a long time as mysterious things are going on. There are more and more incidents and the smog , which originates in the plant, is particularly troubling for the population. Jochen befriends Michael Glasuschek, the grandson of Mr. Glasuschek, who runs an antique shop. Mr. Glasuschek recently got a visit from a sinister looking lady who was Dr. Markward and has a particular interest in the business and in a doll that is actually not for sale. This doll, which can come to life at times, is an image of her companion Tobias.
Jochen and Michael watch the stars one evening; there they make an uncanny acquaintance. Suddenly an old man who introduces himself as Lodeweik stands in the room with a strangely small tree. He tells them that he came to earth from the planet Krypton and that he needs help because the planet Xenon wants to destroy Krypton and that even the whole earth is in danger. He also reports on the conflict between krypton, a planet of cold, and xenon, which is scorching heat. As it turns out, Ms. Markward and her mysterious companion, Tobias, are emissaries from the planet Xenon who are supposed to pursue and hunt Lodeweik. They plan a series of catastrophes for the earth and use the chemical plant as a secret base. There is an old mirror in Glasuscheck's shop that Markward and Tobias can use to move through time. A wild chase begins against Lodeweik. Mr. Feucht is also increasingly recognizing the danger posed by the power plant in particular and is working hard on a solution. In doing so, he puts himself in distress and just barely escapes an attack. Michael and Jochen make friends with Lodeweik and try to help him as far as they can.
