Rainer Hunold

Rainer Hunold (born November 1, 1949 in Braunschweig ) is a German actor . He became known for leading roles in series such as Ein Fall für Zwei , Dr. Sommerfeld - News from Bülowbogen and The Public Prosecutor .

Life

After graduating from high school , he took the subjects of art education , German studies and studied sculpture for a few semesters , but soon discovered his passion for the profession of actor. So from 1975 in Berlin he trained for two years at the Max Reinhardt School for Drama .

1978 saw the breakthrough for Hunold. After appearances in the TV film Curtain Up , We Play Mord and the crime scene episode Zürcher Frucht , he celebrated his first major success in the role of Kalli Flau in the ZDF multi-part series A man wants to go up . Between 1980 and 1986 he played in various roles in the television series Der Alte . From 1988 to 1997 he played the defense attorney Dr. Rainer Franck in the ZDF crime series A Case for Two , at the side of Claus Theo Gärtner as Matula . From 1997 to 2004 Hunold played the doctor Dr. Sommerfeld in the ARD series Dr. Sommerfeld - News from the Bülowbogen . In the series The Public Prosecutor , which is set in Wiesbaden, there are some allusions to his earlier role as a lawyer in A Case for Two .

In 2011 his book Ich bin nun mal dick - Ein Wohlfühlbuch (I feel good) was published, in which he advocates a relaxed and confident approach to being overweight.

The actor is married, has two adopted children and is an ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages . In Germany he supported the campaigns “6 Villages for 2006” and “Give me five” and has donated his own works of art for the SOS Kunststück auction several times. Hunold visited the SOS Children's Villages in Swaziland and India .

He supports the association Show Your Face! For a cosmopolitan Germany e. V. , which campaigns nationwide against xenophobia , racism , anti-Semitism and right-wing extremist violence .

He is also passionate about sculpture . Hunold creates sculptures from tree trunks , which he studs with up to 20,000 copper nails . He had his first solo exhibition Protection in 2009 at the Braubachfive gallery in Frankfurt am Main . The most recent trigger to create works of art was a charity campaign by the SOS Children's Villages organization, for which Hunold is an honorary ambassador. In several auctions , up to 4,000 euros were achieved for one object.

Rainer Hunold is married, has two adopted children from Morocco and lives in Berlin-Frohnau .
