Star train

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The sequence of stars on the imaginary lines in a constellation - for example the sequence of the 7 stars of the Big Dipper or the long chain of dragons - and brittle stars are called the star train or star train . Arcs or auxiliary directions ( alignments ) to make it easier to find neighboring constellations are also called star lines.

In contrast, line-like constellations are called rows of stars , for example the long five - star row extending from Perseus to Pegasus .

In contrast to the outer boundaries of the constellations (border line), which were established in 1928 by the International Astronomical Union , the star line is not standardized.

A distinction must also be made between the star and border line, the line of figures , which denotes the painted constellation figures of the past centuries.
