The Stettin La 11 was a single-seat light aircraft manufactured by the Flight Technical Working Group (FAG) at the State Engineering School in Stettin.

history

The La 11 (construction no. 9, aircraft registration D-YLAS) was built in 1936 under the direction of Hermann Landmann at FAG Stettin, which was researching water flight problems . It took part in the comparison flight in Rangsdorf in 1937 and flew over the Alps with H. Schumacher. In the modification called La 11 W, the aircraft received a hydrofoil between the floats to shorten the take-off distance. In June 1940 the first water start took place on the 780 l displacing swimmers and in 1943 attempts on the Chiemsee.

construction

The La 11 was a strutted shoulder decker made of wood; the rectangular wings and the tail unit were covered with fabric, the fuselage and the optional float panels were plywood. The aircraft was propelled by a Daimler F7502 with 23 HP (17 kW), which was geared down 1: 3 to a rigid two-blade wooden propeller with a propeller diameter of 2.25 m.

The wheel chassis with 380 × 150 tires could not be braked.
