Aggius is a municipality in the province of Sassari in the Italian region of Sardinia with 1438 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Valle della Luna

Aggius is located 53 km west of Olbia and 6 km northwest of Tempio Pausania , below Monte Sozza (790 m) and Monte Croce (683 m). To the north of the village lies the “rocky desert” of the Piano dei Grandi Sassi, also known as the Valle della Luna (Moon Valley).

The neighboring municipalities are Aglientu , Bortigiadas , Tempio Pausania , Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola and Viddalba .

Nuraghe Izzana

The Protonuraghe Izzana is remote and very hidden . It is an early hybrid between a corridor uraghe with a confused floor plan and a domed uraghe . Its location has contributed significantly to the fact that it is still largely preserved.

Aggius is on the road from Tempio Pausania to the state road that goes from Santa Teresa Gallura to Sassari .
