Sorso ( Sardinian Sossu) is an Italian municipality in the north of Sardinia , along the Marina di Sorso coast, on the Gulf of Asinara between Porto Torres and Castelsardo , next to the capital of the province of Sassari and has 14,792 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

The neighboring municipalities are Castelsardo , Sassari , Sennori and Tergu .

Various foods are produced in and around Sorso, such as olive oil , vegetables, wine and cheese. The municipality gives its name to the lovely Muscatel wine, Moscato di Sorso-Sennori .
