It is located on the Logudoro , which borders the nearby Anglona and Gallura area. The Coghinas River runs through the area and has influenced the history of the village for centuries. The village was built on the slope "Su Sassu" and has the Chilivani plain in front of it. The neighboring communities are Erula , Oschiri , Ozieri and Tempio Pausania .
history
The area was inhabited during the Nuragic era. Nearby you can visit the Occultu Mazzone Nuraghe and the Sa Mandra Manna archaeological complex .
In the vicinity of the Santuario di Castro traces of a Roman settlement have been found that are said to date from around 700 AD. The first official dates of Tula can be found around 1678, where the first settlement was built around the church of S. Coros, which was officially given the name Tula.
The old part of the village is at the top of the village, where narrow streets shape the picture. Most of the houses were built from stones found in the region. The well-known sheep cheese was still produced in various houses until the early 1950s.
After World War II, many residents had to emigrate , many of them going to the United States or northern Europe to work. At the beginning of the 1960s the village still had over 2000 inhabitants, at the beginning of 2000 there were only 1600 inhabitants.
