Ossi is a Sardinian municipality in the province of Sassari with 5646 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Ossi is located on the plateau of Logudoro . The neighboring communities are Cargeghe , Florinas , Ittiri , Muros , Sassari , Tissi and Usini . From Sassaris most easterly exit of the expressway "Carlo Felice" (SS131) you can reach it via the Scala di Giocca (spiral staircase), a serpentine road .

Attractions

On the outskirts of the municipality lies the nuragic village of Sa Mandra 'e Sa Giua with some excavated and restored round huts.

On the southern outskirts, below the road to Ittiri , are the Domus de Janas (Necropoli ipogeiche di S'Adde 'e Asile) of Noeddale. The main room, the cavity called “Tomba della Casa”, has a gable roof cut into the rock measuring 3.6 × 3.1 m, with the imitation of ridge and bracing beams.
