The Mesu 'e Montes necropolis

Mesu 'e Montes ( German  "saddle between the mountains" ) is a necropolis consisting of 18 Domus de Janas . It is located above the church of Sant'Antonio near Ossi in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . Mesu 'e Montes, like the nearby but smaller rock grave of Molafa, comes from the final phase of the creation (or expansion and reconstruction) of artificial caves and can be attributed to the late Bonnanaro culture or the early nuragic culture .

The exedra of the rock tomb , known as Tomba II, which was examined in 1984 in the Monte Mannu table mountain , represents a central stele, designed as an architectural front, of a giant tomb , including the three depressions for the Baityloi , while its interior design is completely different from that of the model. The complex Tomba II, richly decorated in the vestibule and the main chamber (with two columns) consists of nine secondary chambers, sometimes primarily divided by low thresholds, of which only one is decorated. The decorations consist mainly of bull horn motifs worked into the walls, which mostly appear as a concentric double motif and are sometimes separated by narrow relief pillars and accompanied by double spirals. A round fireplace with three supporting stones is recessed in the floor, which are interpreted as a saucepan holder. The ceiling shows a ridge beam running over the pillars so that it imitates a wooden beam ceiling. There is also a false door (Falsa Porta) typical of facilities of this period .

Nearby are the rock tombs of Molafa , Sa Rocca and Su Lampu and Su Carralzu .
