The site is located in the northwest of the island, about five kilometers southwest of the city of Sassari in the province of Sassari . The small rock grave is located about 100 m northwest of the Molafa train station, on the southern slope of a mountain, right next to the road.

description

The unusual (only about 50 specimens exist) rock tomb of the nuragic culture , which, similar to Pesciarzos , Sa Figu and Sos Furrighesos , has an architecturally designed portal stele in the manner of the giant tombs , has recesses above the upper vaulted center to accommodate three baityloi . Due to a later renovation, the special architecture of the older rock graves is now unrecognizable. Inside, the small, almost square room with the side altar benches corresponds to one of the small temples from the final phase of nuragic culture, as found in some nuragic settlements .

Orthostat graves (actually orthostats imitating graves) are more common in the limestone areas of Logudoro : Campu Luntanu , but without Exedra , Li Curuneddi , Sa Rocca and Su Lampu , Su Carralzu (both near Florinas), Mesu 'e Montes , Sas Puntas and Tana di Lu Mazzoni .

annotation

Another object built into the rock (grave?) Is located 250 meters further south, it is also near the road on the opposite (eastern side of the valley) mountainside, where the railway line crosses with the road leading to the south. The best preserved tomb Tomba IV of Sa Figu is similar to the nearby Domus de Janas of Mesu 'e Montes , Sa Rocca and Su Lampu and Su Carralzu , as it was carved out of a rock face like these.
