The nuragic settlement ( Italian Villaggio nuragico ) is, unlike the accumulation of buildings around large Nuraghi (e.g. Su Nuraxi near Barumini or Palmavera near Alghero and similarly large nuraghi complexes), not surrounded by a tangle of cell-like round buildings, but a new end-Nuragic , probably already broken off in their development phase, therefore a very diffuse form of Sardinian cult sites.

Sometimes they emerged, like Serra Orrios , without a nuraghe, in other villages the relatively small nuraghe is only a marginal phenomenon. The Sardinian megaron temples in Dòmu d'Urxia , Malchittu and Serra Orrios are representative of the new architectural elements . In addition, the contemporary, architecturally completely new or differently combined well temples of Su Romanzesu (also Poddi Avru), at Bitti , Gremonu and new round sanctuaries for water cults such as Sa Sedda 'e Sos Carros near Oliena should be mentioned.

The following settlements differ in shape, but mostly partially with an area linked to well-known structures such as well temples or circular buildings (Capanne circular). It is noticeable that most of the places in the province of Nuoro are on the edge of the Barbagia .
