Malchittu
The temple of Malchittu is about 1.4 km away from Nuraghen Albucciu on the other side of the SS125 (road) near Arzachena in the province of Sassari in Gallura in Sardinia and is one of the few nuraghi-like megaron temples on the island. In contrast to the rectangular structures such as Dòmu d'Urxia, it has an apse at the end, is around 15.0 m long, three meters wide and, in contrast to this structure and S'Arcu e is Forros, is not structured inside.
This monument, located off the beaten track in mountainous terrain near the Stazzi Malchittu farms , dates from the Middle Bronze Age and dates back to the 16th to 14th centuries BC. Dated. This is the transition from the Bonnanaro culture to the Nuragic culture . Other excavated Sardinian megaron temples provide information about its use in the context of a water cult.
