Sa Sedda 'e Sos Carros

The nuragic settlement Sa Sedda 'e Sos Carros is located near Oliena in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia . The village dates from the Middle Bronze Age and was founded around 1300 BC. Built in BC.

It consists of several round and oval stone huts that have been preserved at a considerable height. Most of the settlement has not yet been excavated. In addition to the workshops for bronze casting, what is special is a type of round sanctuary that has only survived in a few examples. This circular structure made of large basalt and limestone blocks is characterized by a central courtyard with a surrounding bench and a large central water basin. Water flows into the basin from carved ram heads . The floor is paved with limestone. A number of bronze votive offerings have been found in the area and are in the Museum of Sassari .
