Bonnanaro is an Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Sassari in Sardinia with 952 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The municipality is located about 30 kilometers southeast of Sassari . The neighboring communities are Bessude , Borutta , Mores , Siligo and Torralba .

history

From the finds in the Domus de Janas of Corona Moltana in the municipality, Antonio Taramelli formed the concept of the Bonnanaro culture in ancient studies, which marks the transition from the copper to the bronze age in Sardinia.

Around 1000 AD the community was founded under the name Gunar or Gunnanor .
