Tergu is a municipality in the province of Sassari on the Italian island of Sardinia with 609 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located about 200 km north of Cagliari and about 20 km east of Sassari .

The neighboring municipalities are Castelsardo , Nulvi , Osilo , Sedini , Sennori and Sorso .

The community is located on a high plateau, about 5 km south of Castelsardo and the Asinara Gulf .
