Romana ( Sardinian : Rumana ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 523 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the north of the island of Sardinia in the province of Sassari . The municipality is located about 27 kilometers south of Sassari on the Riu Terme .
