Osilo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2937 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . The community is located about 10 kilometers east-northeast of Sassari .
history
The settlement Sa Turricula in the district of Funtana 'e Casu, in Osilo is of fundamental importance for phase B of the Bonnanaro culture in the Middle Bronze Age, which can be connected with the first Protonuraghen . The Abealzu Filigosa culture is named after the village of Filigosa . The medieval castle was temporarily held by the Malaspina family. The church Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Bonaria ( German “Our Lady of Bonaria” ) is located about 3.0 km southeast of Osilo, on the summit of the 766 m high Monte Tuffudesu.

The Strada Statale 127 Settentrionale Sarda leads through the village from Sassari towards Olbia . The Osilo train station is on the Sassari – Palau line , which is served by a narrow-gauge railway (950 mm gauge).
