Stintino is a municipality in the province of Sassari on the Italian island of Sardinia with 1581 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located approximately 200 km northwest of Cagliari and approximately 35 km northwest of Sassari .

The neighboring municipality is Sassari .

The community was founded in 1885 by 45 fishing families from the northern island of Asinara and gained independence from the city of Sassari on August 10, 1988.
